Sometimes, the smallest gestures can make the biggest difference. A scared, hungry black poodle named Cindy Lou was found abandoned in an empty yard, alone and frightened.
Thanks to the compassionate efforts of a rescue team, Cindy Lou was given a second chance at life, full of hope and love.
A small black poodle was living in an abandoned yard, without a home or a family. When a dog rescue organization got wind of this, they immediately went to the spot and started looking for her.

It was a while before they could actually spot her, but once they did, they got to work.
The poodle was visibly scared of humans and did not want to come near them. Since they really wanted to rescue her, they surrounded the entire yard with a portable fence so that she could not get away.
Now, it was time to get her into the boundaries of the yard. One of the rescuers approached the little dog cautiously, with a packet of burgers in her hand.

As soon as the dog saw her, she began to bark profusely. However, the rescuer was not daunted. Instead, she smiled at her reassuringly and tore the packet open, revealing a large delicious cheeseburger inside.
As she threw the pieces of the burger at the dog, the latter came forward and started gobbling them up. It was clear that she had not had a good meal in ages.
Feeling sorry for the little dog, she gave her bigger bits, which she ate up eagerly. By now, it was clear that she had begun to trust her rescuers. While she was eating, the rescuer took some steps towards her and knelt down beside her, stroking her soft fur.

The dog did not flinch or try to get away, signalling that she was now comfortable in her presence. So she was lured into the yard, where the rescuer picked her up in her arms. She was named Cindy Lou.
She was finally out inside the car and it sped off towards the vet’s chamber. Once at the vet’s, she was given a thorough clean-up with a nice warm bath, followed by a medical check-up.

Fortunately, she was quite healthy except for some fleas, which the bath had already helped clear. Next, she was taken to the shelter where she was given a plate full of warm food to eat.
She was hungry, so she helped herself to every single bit that there was on the plate. When she was done, she fell fast asleep.
The next day, Cindy Lou was taken to her foster home, where she is currently residing. We hope that she gets a forever home soon enough!
